Golf at Puerto Los Cabos

Tee off time is 945. I gather this is not a holiday where I am going to get too sleep in.  First stop at the golf course for me is the bathroom.  Bulls are the men, butterflies are the women.  I like being a butterfly.

This course is absolutely stunning, designed by Nicklaus and Norman.  (http://www.puertoloscabos.com/golf.php) The first hole had a higher elevation then the hills at horseshoe valley.  Hit the ball 150 yards and watch it roll back 50 yards.  Then you get the hole where you hit the ball 150 yards and it rolls for 300 yards right off the back of the green.

Absolutely stunning houses, the construction is unbelievable, houses, townhouses, villas, condos and timeshares all up and down the coast.

Looking back on the first hole.  Thank goodness for carts......up one side, down the other

We survived, it was hot but pleasant, so glad I wore golf sandals as I had to keep loosening my straps. Lol

Beware, after the game we were approached by the nicest timeshare recruiter ever and yes we signed up.  $200 each couple for a look at a place called La Residencies.  Tomorrow at 1030 includes breakfast and a taxi ride.  What suckers we are!!!!!

Back to the hotel switch into our bathing suits and have a great yak with some people from Long Island and Long Beach who have been coming here for years.  The Long Beach couple were a little older and this was their 2nd marriage.  She had been the home care nurse who looked after his wife as she battled cancer.  They met a few years later and a wonderful relationship was formed.

Jim and Doug by now can barely keep their eyes open, but what troopers they are, they dragged :) us into a restaurant called Tequilia in San Jose Los Cabos (http://www.tequilarestaurant.com/home.htm) where I had the best shrimp risotto ever.  Jim and Doug both had steak and shared some tequilia straight up, sipped like a scotch.  Needless to say they don't remember a lot of the night.  Lost wallet, lost lighter, luckily they had Lindsey and I to get them home.  Oh my - the saints we are :)

My favourite part of the restaurants is that you enter the building and then you are seated in the open air courtyard, the flowers, trees, little lights, full moon made eating a magical/romantic experience.

And then there's the dangerous part of Los Cabos

His name is Tequilia Rambo and every restaurant on Mendano Beach seems to employ one, their job is to ply you with Tequilia.........and there seems to be lots of willing victims.

This is Office Rambo and he works at a restaurant called, you got it The Office.  The food is fantastic, but if you go for lunch the meals are easily shareable.

After lunch we went for a little walk along the beach, hawkers everywhere trying to sell everything from jewellery to wraps to pottery oh and don't forget the cigars.

This is 2 in the afternoon and the next pictures are a little xrated and we started to feel it was time to head back to sleeply San Jose de Cabo. Lol.  Yes we had to drag the guys out by the ears.

Four beautiful young ladies, all the Tequilia they could drink and a guy who spent $80 to be their victim ..........  The best part was when they threw buckets of ice on him to cool him off. Lol. Oh to be young. Not sure if the girls would have made dinner or not. Lol.

Whale watching and touristy Cabo San Lucas

Cabo San Lucas is a beautiful little resort town on both the coast of the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean.  It is right at the bottom of the Baja Pennisula.  There is a beautiful marina surrounded by restaurants and cafes, a hopping place.  Lots of activities for everyone including some of the best whale watching and deep sea fishing tours on the coast.

T
We booked with Ocean Riders - http://www.oceanriders.com.mx.  Jonathon was our Captain, Erik the photographer and Louisa, the sweetest tour guide in the region.  She was able to count down when the whales were going to jump.

The boat was like sitting on a horse, a zodiac with 2 rows of seats, definitely recommend it as everyone was able to see.  If the whale was on the left side those people remained seated and the people on the right were able to stand, and then vice versa.  They whipped us up and down the coast chasing spouts,  the ride itself was exhilarating, the whales phenomenal.

This is Jonathan, he did a great job following Louisa's directions.. Lol

LOL, I missed him jumping, but did get the splash.  They are so big.......

At the point above the boats had found a mother and baby, so they formed a u around them.  Because the baby can't submerge for as long as the mother it gives you the opportunity to get a good view of them, I was starting to feel a little sorry for them as well.

On the way back in seals and pelicans came out to check to see if we had any bait for them.

These four kinda looked like Jim, Doug, Lindsey and I when we were at Cabo Wabo the other night. Rofl....

Cabo Real Golf in Los Cabos

I shot a 98, just want to mention it now so I can mention it again later.  Woohoooooo

Tee off time at 945, a quick breakfast and a 15 minute car drive and we are ready to tee it up.  I was grumbling all morning about having to get up and having to spend another day on the golf course.  I WANT to be on the beach........and then I get to the course, absolutely beautiful.  (http://www.caboreal.com/Cabo_Real/About_Us.html)

The tee boxes were amazing, how it can be so colourful basically in the middle of the desert.  We were told that each courses spends $1M on water, Cabo Real has made a colourful oasis, stunning.

This is a beautiful resort overlooking the course.

And btw I shot a 98 loll

The elevations were much more reasonable than Puerto Los Cabos.  You went right down to the ocean for the front nine and then totally changed elevation for the back nine, right up in the mountains. It was like being on a plateau.

Every tee box was surrounded by the most beautiful flowers. Purple, reds and pinks, such a nice change from SNOW.

Cactuses were everywhere, all different shapes and sizes.  No rattle snacks or scorpions because it was too cold for them. Lol

For the person who didn't want to go golfing, I can't wait to come back and golf again.

Btw did I say I shot a 98 and only lost 1 ball in 2 games.  Jim lost 7 the first day.  Too scared to ask him how many he lost today.

One last thing, the staff at the golf courses are fantastic, so helpful and pleasant.
